Points

How to earn points?

Points are awarded based on various activities that are performed such as logging in, completing tests, assignments, surveys, units and commenting.

  1. Perfectionism: Scoring 100% on a Test in the first 3 tries.
25 points are given for each successful test completion.

  2. Communication: Commenting or initiating a discussion topic.
5 points are given for a discussion topic or comment.

  3. Activity: Successfully logging into Bahamas Learning Portal. Multiple logins within a 60 minute period will still be treated as a single login.
10 points are given for each login.

  4. Unit completion: Successful completion of a single unit. This is a one-time award and will not be granted even if the user repeats the Unit.
100 points are given for each unit completion.

What can be done with these points?

The points allow a student to appear on the leaderboard. The leaderboard score is reset each week so each student has a fair chance of appearing on top for the week. The student's total points are never reset and are always visible on the dashboard.

How to see points and who can see them?

Every time a student earns points there is a notification to alert the student the number of points that he or she has just earned. The student's total points are always visible on the dashboard as well as from the leaderboard in the My Profile & Reports page in the Main Navigation menu from a student's account. If the student is on the leaderboard, every student will see their name and points for the week. Teachers can also see the students name and total points in their school.
